Providers speaking at tomorrow's IFAonline Technology Day conference are set to show how IFAs are being put firmly at the core of their IT activities.
Assureweb, Selestia, Friends Provident, Prudential as well as trade association Intellect are set to outline how independent financial intermediaries will work and benefit from technology now and in the future.
For example, increasing levels of submission and underwriting of life products online will be explained by Peter Hamilton, head of protection marketing at Friends Provident. FP will also look at how changing use of technology is creating a productivity cycle that can lead to greater competitive advantage for the independent intermediary sector.
Jon Cross, head of eBusiness at Prudential will explain how IFAs are being brought into the product design and distribution planning process using IT applied in new and different ways.
Mandatory electronic reporting and developments involving the FSA and various IT working groups are set to be tackled by Richard Campbell, representing Intellect.
The conference will also discuss IT with relevance to changing market conditions, brought about by issues such as pension regulation and the shift towards wrap provision in investments and other areas.
