Portal Assureweb has announced its latest major deal to bring front and back-end services closer together, which involves data and research provider Defaqto.
Citing a ‘strategic partnership’ to boost the quotes capability of Defaqto’s Aeguos Engage search engine service, the overall goal is to offer a one-stop process for financial advisers, which combines back and front office functions including research, quotes and new business applications.
Given common adviser complaints about having to re-key client data, the two businesses suggest their offering will form part of the industry’s general response to what is seen as a legacy split between frond and back office functions.
Stephen Wynne-Jones, director of sales and marketing at Assureweb says: “This strategic alliance is exactly where we need to be. Our expertise lies in our access to provider data from across the whole market, and with Defaqto’s product research capabilities and proven track record we are creating the most compelling but co-ordinated research proposition in the industry.”
He adds the partnership is set to be just one of many the portal provider is aiming to strike.
Similar announcements last year saw Assureweb join forces with Intelliflo and JCS. In the case of Intelliflo, its users would continue to see its front-end presence, while Assureweb would henceforth act as the “engine under the hood”.
A new version of Aequos Engage including an integrated link with Assureweb is available from this month.
