Financials fall on FTSE

The FTSE fell 44.4 points, or 0.69%, to 6387.7p as markets opened today with a poor performance from financials a drag on the index.

Experian fell 72.75 points, or 15.32%, to 402p. Alliance & Leicester fell 36 points, or 5.38%, to 633p. Standard Life fell eight points, or 3.11%, to 249.5p. Royal Bank of Scotland Group fell 14.25 points, or 3.05%, to 452.75p. British Airways fell 10.25 points, or 2.78%, to 358.5p. Antofagasta rose 24 points, or 3.22%, to 769p. Scottish & Newcastle rose 20.5 points, or 2.77%, to 761p. Lonmin rose 65 points, or 2.03%, to 3265p. Vedanta Resources rose 23 points, or 1.17%, to 1992p.
