1st-The Exchange is poised to roll out a comparative term quotes service available through BlackBerry devices.
The mobile quotes facility will enable Exweb portal users to carry out a term comparative quotation on their BlackBerry at no extra cost, with results presented in simple tabular form.
Once the quote has been obtained remotely, office staff can log in to Exweb on a normal PC and retrieve it.
The quote can then be used for key features documents and online business processing, offering a streamlined administration process and supporting faster and more efficient customer service, says the company.
David Child, managing director of 1st-The Exchange, says: “With an increasing number of intermediaries now working remotely, the ability to receive real-time quotes on a handheld device seemed an obvious and natural progression to us."
The company has chosen to initially launch the service for BlackBerry users, due to their widespread popularity as a business tool, says Child.
“However feedback from early adopters will be vital in allowing us to develop broader services, possibly for use on other smart client technologies,” he adds.
BlackBerry devices account for over a third of the UK’s professional device shipments, with a global subscriber base of over 16m, according to market analyst, Canalys.
Intermediaries interested in using the service for BlackBerrys, should register their Exweb details and fill in an online application on www.exweb.co.ukIFAonline
