The Personal Finance Society (Pfs) is launching a one-day technical conference on inheritance tax to help members understand the new rules and advise their clients correctly.
John Ellis, head of public affairs at the Pfs, says the conference is related to Chancellor Gordon Brown’s budget statement on IHT and will also take into account changes made by the Finance Bill, which is due to be published shortly.
In particular, the conference will cover the question of trusts and help attendees understand how to mitigate the impact of IHT.
Ellis says: “It is essential for advisers to understand the changes so they can advise their clients correctly.”
The conference is planned for May or June and a programme will be published once details of the Finance Bill are announced.
The cost is £300, but if members book early it is £150.
