Zurich will add pension tools to its intermediary website in the next few weeks.
The site, Zurich Intermediary Group, already offers advisers client management tools for the bonds market and will launch fund performance tracker Planning Enquiry, which it put on the bonds business earlier this year, in early 2008.
The site will also feature Zuich Portfolio Planner, designed to help IFAs create clients portfolios. Advisers will use the tool to examine their cients' objectives and attitudes to risk, and view products form the entire market.
Dave Lowe, pensions management director at Zurich Life, says he wants to make Zurich “a serious pensions player” and says he will use features similar to the bonds business to do this.
He says: “Copying our position in the bonds market is the right way to go. Bonds might be different from pensions. Duplicate it, no, but it’s similar to the pensions arrangement.”
To develop the business Zurich has appointed Nick Cooper as pensions proposition manager. He reports to Lowe and works from Swindon.
Cooper joins from Winterthur Life where he worked as product development manager. He previously worked at Clerical Medical for five years and Norwich Union for almost 15 years.
