Chelsea Building Society has withdrawn its intermediary product range due to an increase in applications from brokers.
The society says it will return to the market with a new range of products at 9am on Friday 28 March.
It says intermediary products were withdrawn in order to maintain service standards for its intermediary channel. Direct products remain unaffected by the move.
Commenting on the decision, Jeremy Hicks, divisional director of communications at Chelsea, says: “Over the last few weeks we have experienced a large increase in business levels largely as lenders are tightening their criteria.
"We have made the decision to temporarily withdraw our mortgage range for intermediaries, so that service levels are maintained.”
