The Pensions Regulator has published an e-learning module to help trustees understand the winding-up process for defined benefit (DB) pension schemes.
The regulator has published the module, the first of three, to encourage speedy winding-up.
The first instalment covers winding-up a DB scheme with a solvent employer. Further modules will cover winding-up a DB scheme with an insolvent employer and winding-up a defined contribution (DC) scheme.
The regulator has launched the module on the same site as its free e-learning programme, Trustee Toolkit, but the module offers supplementary learning and does not form part of the trustee knowledge and understanding (TKU) requirements. Therefore the module requires no self-assessment and offers no completion certificate.
