A new transition planning company called FP Advance has been launched to adviser firms across the UK. Headed by Brett Davidson, FP Advance will provide specialist advice to advisers, networks, nationals and wrap or product providers who are looking to move their businesses from a commission to a fee-based model.
Davidson, a regular columnist in RealAdviser, has spent the past two years consulting under the FP Transitions brand, working closely with the Institute of Financial Planning as well as being in demand in a presenter and consultant capacity across the UK.
"Since my arrival in the UK the sheer mass of advisers wanting to make the change to a cost-effective business has been unbelievable," Davidson said. "What we are trying to do is show the transition to a fee-based system is not as straining on a business as is often perceived.
"Our transition planning methodology has already allowed many firms to look at a new way of working, with increased profitability but at the same time better client servicing and a reduced administrative burden."
