Falcon Group has agreed a partnership with Old Broad Street Research (OBSR) to provide its 150 members with the Selector software tool. Selector uses OBSR's qualitative research and fund categorisation to support fund selection and portfolio risk management. OBSR will also run a series of seminars in conjunction with the launch.
Aegon Asset Management has appointed Innes McKeand, previously chief investment officer at Allied Irish Bank Investment Managers, as head of equities. McKeand, who will report to chief investment officer Andrew Fleming, will look to boost the group's equity capability by managing and supporting the managers on each regional equity desk.
ifs School of Finance is developing a qualification to deal with the regulated complaints handling procedure. Fidelity has announced restrictions on its American Special Situations fund will be lifted on 23 October, effectively opening it to new investments. The initial charge on the fund has been reduced from 5.25% to 3.5%. Initial commission has been reinstated at 3% and ongoing trail commission is 0.5%.
