Skandia has added 26 further fund links - including its recently launched UK Best Ideas portfolio - to its life, pension, fund supermarket and offshore fund ranges.
The move, which sees funds from a total of 10 groups added, includes 14 funds offered on the Royal Skandia offshore range. These contain eight multi-currency funds from HSBC, Mellon, New Star and Barings. Of these, four of the portfolios cover Asia. The initiative brings the number of multi-currency funds available through Skandia to 730 with each available in sterling, dollar, euro and Hong Kong dollars.
According to Richard Vincent, head of strategic fund partnerships at Skandia, the links were launched in response to demand from advisers and are expected to have particular appeal in Asia, which is seeking local products.
Notable names added on the life, pensions and fund supermarket side include New Star's Tri-Star portfolio as well as Fidelity's Global Special Situations and Global Property vehicles. Aegon, HSBC, JP Morgan, Old Mutual and Schroders have all also had funds added.
