Gam is to launch a multi-cap, aggressive, UK fund that will be managed by Ross Hollyman, formerly of JP Morgan Fleming (JPMF).
Hollyman, who joined Gam last week, said the new fund will be similar to the JPMF UK Dynamic fund he co-managed with Ajay Gambhir. The launch is likely to take place within the next three months.
Gam already offers the Gam UK Diversified fund, managed by Andrew Green.
Hollyman said: 'Green has his own distinct investment style, which has been highly successful, and I have mine. The two funds will be managed in a very different manner.'
Hollyman's investment style is based on what he describes as comprehensive quantitative analysis, placing emphasis on valuation and earnings momentum. In JPMF UK Dynamic, he held around 50 companies.
Gam is also launching a long/short hedge fund of UK companies that will be managed by Hollyman, who left JPMF in January following the merger of its UK and European teams under Jim Campbell.
He had been a fund manager at JPMF for six years, running UK and European mandates.
In addition to the JPMF UK Dynamic fund, Hollyman ran the JPMF UK Smaller Companies portfolio and JPMF Smaller Companies investment trust.
