FTSE edges higher

The FTSE has bounced around this morning, above and below its opening level before gaining 11 points to 4,085. Amvescap leads the gainers with a 10.75p rise to 452.5p. Insurer Prudential managed a 6.25p gain to 397p. GSK is doing its best to drag the index down, however, with its 21p fall to £12.03. The FTSE 250 index is up 31 points to 5,083. Stagecoach leads the mid-cap gainers, with a 4p rise to 73.75p. Britannic Group is down 6p to 268p. Overnight, the Dow Jones Industrial Averge closed up 146.58 points at 9,216.79. Nasdaq's Compos...
