US-based content manager RR Donnelley is launching a web-based library of UK fund documentation for intermediaries in the late summer.
E.Source, which will be free to intermediary users, will be accessible via fund supermarkets and IFA portals. It will include fund factsheets, managers' reports, accounts and key features documents. This information will be archived for seven years to meet compliance requirements.
Richard Kohn, RR Donnelley's director of European marketing, said E.Source is already collating documentation on some 73% of onshore open-ended funds and hopes to have full market coverage by the end of the year. Similar documentation for offshore funds will be included from the third quarter.
RR Donnelly has so far signed agreements with FundsDirect and FundsHub, with the links going live in late summer. Kohn said further agreements with national IFAs, networks and fund supermarkets are being sought. The service can be white-labelled, he added, but groups' documentation carries their own branding.
Besides offshore, RR Donnelley is looking at adding a multi-jurisdictional fund database feature, which will incorporate translation capabilities. This will enable German intermediaries to look up UK fund factsheets and read them in their own language, for example.
