Inter-Alliance has warned the EU Investment Services Directive on execution-only share dealing could mean an end to advice-free stock buying and affect other forms of investing such as Sipps and self select Isas, due to additional costs of conducting a fact find and offering appropriate guidance on all deals. The extra cost would make these products, where the investor wants control, far less cost effective, the intermediary said.
