The Prudential is planning an extensive marketing and advertising campaign to promote with-profits products and to counter the criticism it has received in the press.
The life office claims much of the negative coverage with-profits products have received recently is sensationalist and has no foundation. Prudential has told intermediaries it is planning a major consumer campaign aimed at pointing out the benefits of with-profits relative to unit-linked vehicles.
The group is planning to support advisers with product literature to distribute to clients. Simon Farrant, product research manager at Towry Law, said the planned campaign indicates the group's forthcoming with-profits bonus declaration will be good.
