Scottish Life International has produced a protected bond designed as an alternative to with-profits investing.
The Protected Bonus Bond Series 2 promises to provide 100% capital security over a six-year and two-month term. In addition, it will offer investors a return of between 18% and 54% depending on the performance of the FTSE 100, EuroStoxx 50 and S&P 500.
The bond offers an annual bonus of 9% providing the closing levels of the indices are at or above their respective levels on the date the product is launched and throughout the 10 business days up to and including each bond anniversary.
Scottish Life International said two bonuses will be paid at the end of the term regardless of stock market performance.
Minimum investment in the bond is £10,000 and there is no maximum. Investments can be made until 28 March and all bonuses will be paid at the end of the term.
Scottish Life International is based in Douglas, Isle of Man.
Neil Lovatt, director of marketing development at the group, said: 'Many investors are suffering capital losses and confidence in equities is at an all-time low.'
