Ian Harnett has been appointed as a strategist at Cazenove, focusing on global economics and market strategy. He was previously managing director of pan-European strategy at Bankers Trust.
Stephen Holt has been named vice president of UK institutional business development at Scudder Threadneedle.
Holt, who joins the group from Barclays Global Investors, will assume responsibility for developing relationships with consultants, and corporate and local authority funds.
Britannic Asset Management has restructured its pan-European investment team. Peter Reid, chief investment officer at the group, will take on the role of head of UK equities. Until now Margaret MacLaren has been director of pan-European equities with specific UK investment responsibilities. MacLaren will now focus on investment in continental Europe.

Des Shine joins the group on 22nd May as senior investment trust salesman, he was for many years in a similar role at Smith New Court (now Merill Lynch).
In addition, Stuart Klein joins as an executive in the investment trust corporate finance team. Formerly with KPMG, Klein had particular responsibility for fund management and investment trust clients.
