Mike Watson is to replace Alan Gadd as head of personal financial services at HSBC.
Watson, who was head of investments at HSBC Bank International, based in Jersey, will become the head of savings and investments on 2 April.
Gadd, who had the heads of the professional adviser, the savings and the investment divisions reporting to him, said he had not been actively searching for a new job since departing HSBC earlier this year.
He does, however, intend to return to the industry, either with a small group keen to expand or a large group looking to take advantage of the change in distribution patterns occurring in the industry.
Prior to joining HSBC Gadd worked at Hendersons and at one point ran their fund of funds products.
