New Star Higher Income, the fund being managed by Toby Thompson, has raised £96.2m during its three-week offer period and is set to be one of the most successful Isa funds this season.
Since launch in July 2001, New Star has now attracted more than £500m in retail sales from more than 50,000 investors.
John Duffield, chairman of New Star, described the launch as a phenomenal success, given the fact market sentiment is so low.
"It is very encouraging that so many advisers and investors share my belief that equity income funds, which will deliver capital growth and rising income now and over the longer term, are the right choice for this year's Isa," he says.
Other funds in the range include the New Star European Growth, managed by Richard Pease, and UK Growth, managed by Alan Miller, which raised £251 during their launch period in July 2001. The New Star UK Aggressive Fund, managed by Tim Steer, raised £31m during its launch period in October 2001.
New Star Capital Guaranteed Hedge Fund, meanwhile, raised $181m (£124m) in December.
