Pricing and dealing in Scottish Widows' unit trusts and OEICs has been suspended today due to the current volatility in financial markets and the uncertainty over the availability of pricing information. Other unit-linked funds are also affected.
The group said: "The volatility in financial markets, combined with the fact that pricing information is incomplete due to the suspension of the United States Stock Exchange, means it would not be in the interests of investors to continue pricing and dealing in these highly exceptional circumstances.
Pricing and dealing in unit trusts and OEICs, and other unit-linked funds, will resume at the earliest practical opportunity, and this decision will be kept under constant review. Unfortunately, it is impossible to be certain when this will occur.
In particular, it will not be possible to resume pricing and dealing in funds which have investments in companies listed only on the United States Stock Exchange until it reopens."
