Standard Life Investments recorded a 31% increase in its UK mutual funds over the past year to September. Keith Skeoch, chief investment officer, said the growth in sales was led mainly by fixed interest funds, in particular the Standard Life Higher Income fund. Another highlight of the group's results was that new business from third parties had quadrupled in four years since the company's launch. Worldwide, investment sales were £3.4bn, up 32% on last year's £2.6bn. Funds under management were only marginally down despite falls in excess of 20% in worldwide equity markets.
