Armstrong Management is to launch the Armstrong Managed Property fund on 1 May 2002 and is distributing SG Asset Management fund of hedge fund products.
Armstrong Managed Property will concentrate on UK residential properties and offers pooled investment into the buy-to-let market. The fund is domiciled in the Isle of Man and will be promoted globally and across the UK. The fund has a target return of 9-10% per annum over a rolling period. The minimum investment is £15,000 and there is a 5% initial charge, 3% of which can be taken as commission or discount. There is also an annual management charge of 1.3%, 0.25% of which can be used as renewal commission.
Armstrong is also the sole retail distributor of SG Asset Management's structured guaranteed fund of hedge fund products. There is an existing growth structure, which is 100% capital guaranteed and an income portfolio, which retail clients can access for a minimum of £10,000. Additionally, other bespoke tranches can be arranged providing there is investment of £10m. Iain Fairbairn, founder of Armstrong Management, said: 'A tranche can be organised for a network of IFAs or a trust committee. Or individual retail clients can piggy back existing portfolios.'
The hedge fund products are risk managed by SG Asset Management subsidiary Lixor and the asset allocators are Trust Advisors, an American fund management company. The products target an absolute return of 1% per month, or 12% per annum over a rolling five-year period.
