A single examination regime, as well as a single designation system, will be introduced to replace the 'alphabet soup of qualifications', according to an FSA report on training and competence. Further consultations are likely to take place before the planned modular examination system is introduced, however. David Jackman, FSA head of industry training, states in the report that further consultation will be held in September on investment advice T&C, followed by a further paper in February 2003.
