A number of consultation papers are set to be released by both the UK Government and the European Commission over the course of the summer.
In June, the second stage of the European Commission's consultation on pension portability is due, according to Scottish Equitable, and an announcement by the actuarial profession on draft guidelines to disclose true solvency levels to trustees is also expected.
July sees a number of much anticipated reports published. The Penrose report, looking into the issues surrounding Equitable Life, is expected to be released, along with the next stage of consultations on the Inland Revenue's tax simplification proposals.
There is also the possibility of a Department of Work and Pensions announcement on the setting up of a central discontinuance fund.
August will see the FSA publish final rules on point-of-sale product disclosure, while the autumn will bring further discussions on the DWP's Green Paper proposals.
