Gartmore has added European Bond and European Corporate Bond funds to its Luxembourg-based Sicav range.
The corporate bond fund will invest in investment grade European corporate debt while the European Bond portfolio will include an element of government debt. The move increases the number of funds in the range to eight.
The two portfolios are managed by Richard Hodges, a senior investment manager from Gartmore's 20-strong fixed-income team.
Hodges has been with Gartmore since 1989 and has managed the Gartmore Capital Strategy Bond fund since 1999.
The Sicav was launched in September 2000 and initially had five funds ' Roger Guy's Continental European, Anne Steele's Pan European, Jonathan Sharpe's European Smaller Companies, Virgil Adams' Japanese and Chris Palmer's Emerging Markets funds.
Gartmore launched a North America fund in October 2001, managed by Simon Melluish.
Steen Steincke, head of global bancassurance at the group, said: 'The proven strength of our fixed-income team's process and past performance makes this an exciting and strong addition to the Gartmore Sicav range and provides an attractive complement to our existing offering.'
