Friends Provident and Clerical Medical are now accepting Unipass digital certificates for access to their UK extranets says standards organisation Origo.
That brings to 11 the total number of providers accepting the certificates, which do away with the need for separate passwords and user names.
Some 5,000 IFAs are using Unipass already, and Origo has set a target of 10,000 by year's end.
Origo says there are an additional 20,000 possible users registered to access the FP and CM websites, which should contribute greatly to its user-number target.
The technology standards organisation quotes FP's director of marketing Graham Harvey as saying that 80% of the firm's IFA business will be online within two years.
A quarter of IFAs accessing CM's site are now using Unipass, Origo says.
