group launches more indepth version of investment analysis toolkit
Standard & Poor's has launched an updated version of its web-based Fund Expert investment analysis toolkit.
The tool is designed for intermediaries and private investors to carry out reliable, in-depth research on a universe of over 20,000 funds domiciled both onshore and offshore.
Using Fund Expert, performance can be tracked and client presentations created based on client-specific needs and individual portfolio make up.
The tool allows the user to filter, rank and compare funds by building custom filters to display funds matching chosen criteria. For example searches can be made by fund type, level of management fees, risk and performance.
Fund Expert can also be used to calculate averages for any number of funds.
Chris Butterwick, S&P director of funds, said: 'With over 30,000 funds in Europe, whether domestic or UK registered for sales, intermediaries and private investors increasingly need reliable, in-depth and usable fund information.
'Our Fund Expert tool has been created to assist all manner of investors in the UK market in their fund selection process and allow them to generate the pieces of information they need to make more informed investment decisions.'
The tool further allows the user to analyse the performance of any mutual fund or portfolio against any other fund, category of funds, or against 20 different indices and investment objective averages.
The tool can be customised from a selection an international databases including offshore funds, UK broker funds, UK FSA, UK investment trusts, UK life assurance funds, UK pension funds and UK unit trusts and Oeics.
