The AITC has expressed concern at the growing perception hedge funds can and will deliver positive returns in all market conditions. The view came in a response to the FSA discussion paper on the regulatory regime for hedge funds. The AITC believes if the FSA chooses to relax the current regime, it must ensure the regulator's own material and that of the product providers does not create a false impression of the nature of the product and its limitations in both rising and falling markets.
