The board of Aberdeen New Thai investment trust is putting up a special resolution to wind up the trust, triggered by the company's articles of association. These require that the resolution be called should the discount exceed 15% in the 12 weeks immediately prior to the company's year end. During this period, the trust's discount was 17.37% and, as at 10 May, stood at 21.3%. The average discount in the Far East ex Japan sector is 17%.
