You can now view the joint FSA and ABI online pensions calculator, which is designed to help you explain to clients how much income they might receive each week at retirement.
Rather than ask how much the individual would like to receive each week, the calculator is designed so consumers specify how much they want to or can contribute, and adds the total investment return together with monies from the basic state pension and additional state pension benefits.
Calculations are based on the assumption that investments will return 7% each year, inflation will stay at 2.5%, premiums will rise by 2.5% pa and the pot will be used at retirement to buy a pension.
The FSA link can be found inside its consumer site, while the ABI allows access from its front page.
