Jonathan Cobb is leaving his role as fund manager of the Cazenove Portfolio fund to join Standard Life Investments in December. There he will work on its UK investment team, with a focus on the group's institutional funds.
At Cazenove Cobb ran the Cazenove Portfolio fund and worked as a senior investment manager responsible for a number of institutional portfolios.
The frA-rated Portfolio fund, listed in the balanced managed sector, has returned 17.3%, on an offer to bid basis, over the year to 11 October. The fund is ranked six out of 76 funds in the sector, although this drops to 29 out of 78 over three months on bid to bid returns of -4%, compared with the sector average of -4.3%.
Edward Cottrell, manager of the Cazenove UK Equity fund, will be taking over the running of the Portfolio fund, while the institutional funds will be distributed around the existing institutional team.
UK Equity is ranked 231 out of 305 funds in the UK All Companies sector over the three months to 11 October. It is 42 out of 290 over one year, on offers to bid returns of 16.3%.
Cazenove has appointed David Docherty, formerly of M&G, to the UK equity team. Docherty will be joining the team at the beginning of December and will manage UK equity portfolios as he did at M&G.
