Offshore fund group Platinum Capital Management is to launch a capital protected fund offering access to a range of hedge funds.
The Platinum Capital Protected Income Plus fund offers annual income of 10% a year, which will be paid out of capital on a quarterly basis. It also offers 100% capital protection with the use of a 10-year UBS zero coupon bond.
The fund will be launched on 1 February and there will be no initial charge and the annual management charge will be 2.5%. The minimum investment is $50,000.
The product offers access to six hedge fund managers, including US group Mistral which provides an equity hybrid strategy and New Providence, also from the US which offers a global value style.
Other hedge fund groups running mandates for the product include US firms Okumus, Butterfly and Husic as well as Korean firm MY Asset Management.
