New Star has attracted £400 million in retail sales and over 40,000 investors, in the six months since its official launch in July 2001.
The company achieved this level of sales from the diverse new products it launched in 2001 and 2002. Its open ended funds, the New Star UK Growth and European Growth funds, launched in the UK raised £250 million during the offer period.
It also raised £31 million during the launch of the New Star Aggressive fund and £124 million during the launch of the New Star Capital Guaranteed Hedge Fund.
The increase in minimum AE contributions has had little impact on opt-out rates - with cessations after April increasing by less than two percentage points, data from The Pensions Regulator (TPR) shows.
