Despite continuing doom and gloom from the City and talk of a double-dip recession, research from Axa shows people are feeling financially better off now than they were 12 months ago. Axa's Wealth Index research also shows people are continuing to save, with 59% citing pay increases and 43% debt clearance rather than rising property prices as the main reasons for the feelgood factor. The index is aimed at monitoring how people feel about their wealth and the state of their finances on a six-monthly basis.
