A new survey by JP Morgan Fleming Asset Management today says that the number of investors who believe the stock market will recover in six months' time continues to fall.
According to the latest such monthly survey, just 38% of individuals out of a group of 500 retail investors said the FTSE 100 index would be higher in six months' time.
That compares with ratios of 41% and 48% in the preceding two months respectively.
And following last week's collapse in the FTSE, the time when a sustained recovery in share prices actually takes place has been pushed further into the future.
