Merrill Lynch Investment Managers' chief investment officer is to manage an offshore multi-cap US equity fund.
Bob Doll, based in Princeton, will run the US Flexible Equity portfolio, launched as part of the MLIIF Luxembourg-based Sicav range of funds.
It has been designed as a multi-cap fund seeking capital growth from the stock universe in the Russell 1000 Index, which includes both large and medium cap stocks.
Doll will manage the fund using a business cycle approach aimed at producing strong relative returns in all market conditions avoiding any rigid style such as value or growth.
Doll, who joined Merrills in 1999, currently manages $2.14bn in assets in a series of US equity large cap mandates.
Doll said: 'The US Flexible Equity Fund is a solid addition to MLIIF and completes the international US equity fund range. MLIIF now offers a full suite of products in this important asset class.'
The fund will now be marketed in the 27 jurisdictions in which the MLIIF range of funds is available.
