Lifeboat Financial Group's Start Independent has now completed the acquisition of The Independent Partnership in Glasgow, making this its third acquisition and increasing its RIs to 80.
Start only gained FSA authorisation in March last year, but since then has acquired Birmingham-based Pinnacle Financial Solutions and Buick Mitchell Avery, before buying Independent and its 18 RIs.
Expansion of the group should push the IFA firm towards its turnover aim of £10m within their second trading year, says Brenda Hughes, md of The Independent Partnership (IPL) and now regional director for Central Scotland at Start Independent.
"In order to take the business to the next stage we needed more expertise - both people and infrastructure. Start Independent brings this to IPL, and as a result, we will both have stronger businesses that will be able to achieve benefits of critical mass."
