Gavin Tisshaw stepped up to take over as president of the Life Insurance Association this morning from Michael Bousfeld, during the LIA's 30th anniversary conference in Hammersmith, London.
Tisshaw, who is also an IFA at Executive Advisory Services, was previously Vice-President and automatically assumes the office of president. Michael Bousfield will remain on the LIA Board for a further year as immediate past president.
Tisshaw also sits as a member of the FSA Small Business Practitioner panel, as well as of the BSI/ISO Working Party examining the creation of an international standard for financial planning.
Karl Snowden, director of Government and Industry Affairs for Zurich Financial Services Group, and Roger O'Brart, IFA with the Peers Group, were also elected directors of the association, succeeding Bob Pierce and Peter Sprung.
Jonathan Battersby was also elected Vice-President at their first board meeting.
