Norwich and Peterborough is removing arrangement fees from its discounted and tracker mortgage schemes. The building society's standard variable mortgage rate is currently 5.69%. "Consumer research shows that our customers dislike mortgage administration fees," says Stephen Penlington, N&P's general manager of residential mortgages. Arrangement fees, which range from £245 to £395, will be removed from Friday. Penlington adds the perk complements free valuation and legal fees for remorgage customers, as well as no redemption charges.
