Intermediaries will be able to process term assurance, bond and stakeholder schemes online with the launch of an extranet service from Friends Provident.
The service can be accessed through an online registration at the Friends Provident website at www.friendsprovident.com/ifa/online/servicing. With a capacity to deal with a thousand cases an hour, the extranet service is a working alternative to its paper-based service. Though the paper-based service will still be in place Friends Provident is hoping that intermediaries, responsible for up for 70% of its total distribution, would use the service for applications as it cuts processing time.
With individual adviser password protection, the service will enable intermediaries to estimate values and death claim values, find out about current surrender values and projected future surrender values, unit holdings, current fund holdings and unit values, general policy details and premium payment details.
The next elements to be added to the service are proposal tracking, allowing intermediaries to find out the progress of a particular proposal, and a commission enquiry service.
