Aegon has drafted in two members of its European team to manage UK funds on a long-term basis.
Alistair Duffy will become lead manager on UK Tactical but will continue to run European Growth. Mark Peden will manage UK Equity Growth in conjunction with the European Tactical portfolio he already runs.
The UK funds were managed by Matt Harris before his departure for Swip in September but have since been under the caretaker management of Peden.
A the same time, Jackie Bowie, manager of Technology Tactical, will take over from David Sheasby as manager of Worldwide Tactical. Sheasby is also the group's head of strategy and will continue in that role.
Audrey Ryan, who returned this week from maternity leave, will take on the Aegon Ethical fund, which she previously ran, along with the group's Balanced Portfolio, Equity Income and Income Portfolio.
Aegon is planning to close a number of funds in 2003 to reduce its fund range from 23 to 15. Those closing are American Smaller Companies, European Smaller Companies, Far East, Japan, Latin America, Aegon Cash, Aegon 100 Index Tracking and several SRI funds.
To promote 'long-term investment'
