Rathbones is to hold a series of 12 seminars for intermediaries around the country, focusing on Sipps. The seminars, to be held in September, October and November, will look at the benefits for both advisers and clients of being able to manage pension portfolios in conjunction with investment portfolios .
They will examine the features of Sipps and how they can be used to greatest effect. The investment flexibility, control and choice of Sipps will be highlighted, in addition to the flexibility over contribution and benefit payments. There will also be advice on how pensioners are able to consolidate existing pension investments into one plan.
There will be talks on income drawdown and death benefits, the purchase of property within a Sipp and investment portfolios. Rathbones said that a high level of demand from advisers had prompted them to add to the seven seminars they had already held this year.
Julia Harrington, senior pensions consultant at Rathbones, said: 'We have witnessed an increased amount of interest about Sipps and how these plans can provide tailored solutions to the pension planning of more sophisticated clients.'
