Global Asset Management (GAM) announced the appointment of Keith Guthrie as Investment Manager within its Multi-Manager team in London. He will be responsible for the management of UK onshore investments.
GAM also noted its Multi-manager funds under management rose by 62% during 2001 to $5.8 bn. Overall, total assets under management by GAM reached $14.6 bn.
Guthrie previously ran and advised on multi-manager equity and bond portfolios worth $400m as Head of International Investment Research at Ansbacher & Co Ltd for three years.
David Smith, Chief Investment Director of GAM's Multi-Manager team, commented: "Keith has considerable experience in multi-manager investing and will add depth and specialist knowledge on the long-only side."
In addition to Guthrie, Multi-Manager has appointed two investment analysts. Parin Tolia to the team in New York and Andrew Hutson to the team in London.
