Skandia has released an updated version of its U-Select software CD Rom-based asset allocation and fund selection tool for intermediaries.
Angus Duncan, head of investment sales at Skandia, will be going on the road in July to give presentations and demonstrations of the upgrade. The original was launched two years ago.
Key features of the new release are simplified fund research and portfolio building functions, more user- friendly functionality, a choice of asset allocation models including pension drawdown and extensive filtering facilities.
The tool, which is used by intermediaries to assist them with building portfolios for clients, takes the client through a series of 12 questions, and based on the responses uses statistical data to give a suggested asset allocation. Users of U-Select have access to all funds that are available to Skandia's MultiFunds platform, numbering more than 200 funds from 20 investment houses.
Duncan said: 'The two key parts of U-Select are asset allocation and fund selection, with asset allocation being the most important. The key aim is to give intermediaries assistance in the allocation process and to help them with justifying their choices to satisfy regulations.'
