Mortgage adviser John Charcol has joined with Interactive Investor International (iii) to provide an online mortgage centre.
The centre will allow customers to search, select and apply for a mortgage online. Initially the service will take users through a series of questions designed to match them with the perfect deal from more than 300 products from 25 lenders, representing 70% of the market.
Another section of the site contains a re-mortgage facility, which allows users to discover in 24 hours whether it is worthwhile changing their current provider.
A best buys section features more than 30 mortgage deals that are exclusive to John Charcol, while an online discussion group allows those interested to ask questions on or share their personal experiences of mortgages.
Research is available on the site, allowing access to background content on the different types of mortgages available, mortgage arrangement costs, investment vehicles, portability, mortgage protection, remortgaging, the buy-to-let option and the Scottish process.
Calculators are also offered, giving investors an approximate idea of the monthly repayment costs versus the amount borrowed.
John Blowers, product marketing director of iii, said: "The Mortgage Centre provides investors with access to a knowledge bank on a range of mortgage offers and the facility to process an application in one visit."
The site is available at: www.iii.co.uk/mortgages/.
