Citibank is offering €50 to customers if they open a Sterling current account with the US firm before February 28.
Accounts are euro-compatible so customers can transfer sterling into euro free of charge, and customers can also switch between sterling and euro accounts with one card.
If the euro is chosen as the priority currency, the Citicard can be used to pay for purchases in Europe or withdraw cash and avoid the usual exchange rates, commission charges and currency fluctuations.
Jonathan Mindell, UK Sales and Marketing Director, commented: "Many Britons underestimate the impact the euro will have on their travels, whether it be the skiing holiday, week in the sun or business trip to Rome. As we become more accustomed to the new pan-European currency, our requirements for our banking facilities will change"
A minimum salary of £20,000 per year is required to open an account and the €50 account opening incentive is only available when customers pay their salary into a Citibank sterling current account or open with a deposit of £2,000.
Details on Citibank's Euro banking products can be found at www.citibank.co.uk or call 0800 005500
