Impartial - the IFA consultancy firm set up by former IFAA executives Garry Heath and Mike Owen - has published a series of booklets to help consumers understand the basic design and concept of different financial services products, as well as a guide explaining the importance of independent financial advice.
Latest addition to the collection is "Reaching Retirement With A Pension Plan", a colour-printed booklet which explains all the financial benefits which might be open to clients during retirement and the decisions they have to make.
This sits alongside existing colour guides - The Value of Independent Financial Advice, and The value of Critical Illness Insurance - which have also been approved by the Plain English Campaign and can be purchased for a minimal printing cost, say Impartial managing director Mike Owen and chairman Garry Heath.
Sponsors of the new guide include Canada Life, GE Life, Liverpool Victoria, Scottish Equitable and Scottish Mutual.
Cost of the retirement guide is 60p to cover printing costs, while the critical illness guide is 30p and the value of independent financial guide is 25p.
All booklets are subject to minimum order of 50 copies, plus postage and packaging.
