IFA internet company, pensionsbusiness.com, is to offer employers a choice of group personal pension schemes online.
The pensionsbusiness.com website provides employers with information on the group pension plan schemes offered by Legal & General, Clerical Medical, Scottish Mutual, Scottish Amicable and Scottish Equitable.
Employees can join the chosen scheme online, gaining access to their own dedicated web page and enabling them to alter their contributions if and when necessary.
The scheme will be marketed to employers mainly, as a means of providing added value employee benefits.
Employees will be given a CD Rom and video package, and can use the interactive website to enable them to make an informed decision about joining the scheme, Michael Lockyer, chief executive of pensionsbusiness.com, said.
The company also plans to offer employers a range of stakeholder pensions when they become available from April 2001. Lockyer said all pensions offered on the site fall under the same cost structure as stakeholder pensions and will be stakeholder compliant.
