Standard Life has broadened its range of investment choices available under its pension plans.
From 7 May, customers investing in Standard Life group personal pension plans and personal pension plans will be able to have their funds invested in Standard Life Investments Global Selector and UK Smaller Companies funds. In addition, external links have been added to funds such as Deutsche Asset Management Managed Portfolio, Fidelity Special Situations and South East Asia fund, Gartmore European Selected Opportunities, Newton managed and Threadneedle American Select Growth.
Fund managers and specific funds have been selected following research with IFAs, according to Colin Ledlie, assistant general manager marketing at the group. He said: "In December 2000 we launched external funds on our group pension for larger employers. This is the next phase of broadening the investment choices available."
The range is also being made available to new members of Standard Life's single charge products, Personal Pension One and Group Personal Pension One. The extended choice is not being made available to the group's stakeholder product, retirement annuity contracts or FSAVCs.
